Model Number: 110.26912690 Brand: Kenmore Age: Less than 1 year
Had a grinding noise during agitate cycle. I replaced the transmission and now it's gone. Immediately after replacing the transmission, I began having problems with the spin cycle......the tub is able to spin. When the machine switches from agitate (tub not spinning) to spin cycle (tub supposed to spin), it doesn't. If I turn the washer off, I see the tub drift a little, then when I restart the washer, the tub begins spinning like normal.
Thinking maybe it was the clutch, I replaced the clutch assembly and brake cam.....same issue. I also removed the cover and watched the clutch while the machine switched from agitate to spin......the clutch rotated about 1/4 revolution then stopped. What is locking up the tub.....but releases it when I turn the machine off/on? Any ideas? Is it possible that the new transmission I put in is defective and causing this problem?
