Washer works fine except for 1 thing.

There use to be a 2nd agitation cycle after the first initial (what I would call "Hard" agitation) washing agitation. I guess you might call the 2nd cycle the "Normal Wash" portion of the wash.

The machine works as described...
1. Fills and 1st agitation cycle works.
2. When time comes for the "Normal" cycle it just sits there. You can hear the timer running but nothing from the motor area.
3. Drain cycle kicks in after the "Normal" cycle times out.
4. Fills for Rinse cycle
5. Rinses and drains

This machine is probably 25 - 30 years old. It is a solid machine of mostly metal parts and with the right maintainence and care should be repairable. I just don't know if it's the clutch or what. I'd like to get a better idea of what to look for before I start taking it apart.

Can't help you but if no other response here, you might try this forum for older appliances.

Thanks! I didn't see the other forum for older machines.

My spin cycle has become slower too which from what I'm reading, the most obvious culprit is the clutch assemby. I think I'm gonna jump in and replace that and while I'm in there I'll look to see if I can get a visual on anything else that might seem out of place or broken.
