Hi, I have a direct drive kenmore washer that sometimes won't spin in the spin cycle. It does always drain. Over the weekend, the washer was making a noise and not spinning at all. I took it apart and ended up replacing the coupler. I put it back together and it wasnt making that noise but it wasnt spinning, once i turned the drum by hand some, it started spinning again. It spins pretty hard by hand. I would like to try to fix it. I'm thinking I should try replacing the clutch or the brake unit. Does anyone have any ideas for what would be the most liekly fix?

thank you

Hi.

Most likely you need to replace the clutch.

Simon.

thanks, I just ordered a clutch to try, how would I go about checking to see if there is something stuck between the drum and the basket?

HI.

First try to look through the outer tub, and if that's not gonna help - remove the basket.
