My GE washer had a broken belt. I replaced the belt and it won't agitate properly. It will flash 4 lights which mean faulty with the mode shifter coil. How do I repair this and how much? Is it worth fixing? My washer goes through the cycles it will agitate and the inner tub moves at this time is that normal? It will drain, rinse, and spin out ok.

The reason the inner tub moves during agitation is because the mode shifter is bad. A mode shifter costs about $130. It requires complete disassembly of the washer to replace. Only you can decide if it's worth it to fix. If it were me, I'd fix it because no way do I want one of the new junk washers they are selling these days.
