Since it works ok during the rinse cycle this suggests the control unit is the problem.

First thing though is contact Sears and see if they will honor the warranty since you are only a couple of days over.

If you need more input please post a full model number.

I talked with sears and since its been a year and somedays they cant do anything about but offer me another warranty thats half of what the washer cost. The model number is 402.4903. How do I replace the control unit? Wheres the cheapest place I could buy one. Thank you

Well it was worth a shot. If the new warranty is willing to cover your existing problem then that might be something to consider.

If you want to try the repair yourself you need the full model number, as the one you presented does not look like a Sears model number. It should be 110 or 417 followed by eight digits.

You can purchase the parts from this site (those of us who reply on this site are volunteers and not connected with the parts operations) and if the part does not fix the problem you can return it. Replacing the control unit is fairly easy, and it is accessed on most front loaders by removing the top. You then unplug the wiring, take out the board and replace it, remembering of course how the wiring is connected.

Okay, either this is too new a model to come up on the APP parts lists, or it is not a U. S. model.

You may have to go to Sears for the parts source.
