My maytag washer has been working well but recently it has stalled between cycles. It doesn't happen every time but when it does, it will hesitate for several minutes between cycles (i.e. 2-5minutes). I hear a clicking noise like a timer but i'm waiting until it kicks into the next cycle. Eventually it does kick in and finishes the wash but this delay is now happening more frequently.

any idea how to troubleshoot? is this a timer problem? how do you diagnose a timer?

It probably is the timer, but no real way to diagnose it except to replace it.

If you buy from this site and the new timer does not fix things you can return it, so go ahead and replace it and hopefully that will take care of the problem.
