EMERGENCY... MY MOTHER BLAMED MY WIFE FOR THIS VERY OLD, OLD
WASHER SUDDENLY HAVING PROBLEMS...

Hello, This washer suddenly stopped draining.
I had a local appliance store send repairmen to diagnose the problem.
They said it was the Transmission & a switch & wanted $520 to repair it.

I called another Appliance store... they said the motor, etc... & I paid their diagnosis charge.

I found AppliancePartsPro on my computer. I ordered the transmission from them, then I installed it. Well, there was not transmission problem. They just wantd to rip me off.

The motor also seems fine... just another Rip-Off Try.

I now started researching to possibilities further. So... now I've installed the Lid Switch Assembly.

The washer will start, it will go to whatever water level I choose, then it will agitate & the timer will take it to where it should start its new cycle, it will click, it will hum, but it will NOT go into the next cycle.

I've tried this with different time periods of wash, but it is the same on each one.

I did try putting a flat screwdriver to see if it would drain & it did, but not always when I do this method.

So... hopefully someone can find the proper washer fix for me, BEFORE My Mother Drives me Crazy!!! Desparate in Santa Clara...

I would try replacing the lid switch. Also, you can return the transmission to APP if it was not needed.

So, did you replace the lid switch or you just thought about it? I'm confused.
