Take off the front panel and check the belt for stretching or fraying, and then check the pump for any obstructions.
If everything checks out operate it with the front panel off and see if you can see what the problem is.

concerning the washer motor I am trying to replace in the nav6800aww model machine, seperating the pump from the motor shaft was tricky, seems there was some sort of sleeve on the end of the shaft to make it fit into the pump receiver tighter , well this part was corroded, anyway it finally did let go, but now there is a lot of play in the fit of shaft end into the pump, is there another part that I need or can I do some kind of alternate step to ensure a proper fit?

Okay, this is kind of a mystery since there is no sleeve on the motor shaft that I am aware of, and there isn't one in the parts diagram here.
04-Motor, Pump and Idler Assembly parts for Amana NAV6800AWW - AppliancePartsPros.com I am wondering if the insert in the pump that the shaft goes into has come out, in which case you will need a new pump. If there is rust and it rust/welded itself on then the pump probably has a leak. In fact, it is possible that the pump was the problem in the first place. So I would get a new pump and try the old motor and if that works then return the motor. Otherwise I think I would replace both the pump and motor. If you buy/bought the parts from this site they are returnable.
