I have a Whirlpool Estate washer that rapidly cycles the inlet solenoid (especially the hot valve) during the fill cycle. The fill completes and all other cycles work properly, but I can hear the solenoid switching off and on many times during most fills.
seems it could be temp switch, fill switch or the fill valve, but from the other threads I've read, doesn't exactly seem like any of them.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Remove the hoses and check the filter screens for debris and make sure the hoses are not clogged up. Place the hoses directly into the tub and turn the water valves on to make sure you have good flow.

Set temp to cold/cold. Does it do it on both wash fill and rinse fill? Are you using flood safe hoses or valves?
