Machine fills, then I hear a humming that sounds like it is coming from the motor. Raise the lid and the humming stops, so that switch is good.
With the lid down, after a short period of time the humming stops, and it then will not hum again for a while.
Sounds like the motor to me, and the fuse is blowing when it overheats, then resetting itself.
Any thoughts on how I can further diagnose this?
Thanks!

It is possible your motor is going, or that the timer has a problem sending enough current to the motor but the first thing to check is to see if the coupling is broken and jamming things. Part number: AP3961972

Pull the pump off the motor first to rule out a jammed pump. If that is ok, pull the motor and set it on the floor still plugged in and see if it will run after first checking that you can rotate it freely by hand. If it runs, try turning the gearcase input by hand to see if it's jammed. If motor doesn't run sitting on floor, try spinning the shaft as fast as possible by hand while its humming to see if it will start. If not, you really need to check the voltage at the motor connection to determine if it's the motor or a voltage drop problem.
