Frigidaire top load inner tub - I hear liquid sloshing if I shake the inner tub. It's in the chamber around the top part of the inner tub. I assume this might be some sort of load balance?

When spin first starts the belt tensioner jumps in and out a few times making a banging noise. As soon as the spin gets going it quits banging and works OK. All other cycles are OK. The spin cycle is OK except for the few bangs at the start.

Thought maybe it was related to the liquid in the chamber around the top of the inner tub. Removed the inner tub (what a chore) and the tensioer jumping and banging stopped.

That is a balance ring, filled with water. It's job is to slow vibration and out of balance spinning.
