My BRAND NEW Frigidaire - 5 days old - when it is not in use it fills with water. Also, if my wash completes when I'm not at home and I come back, say 20 minutes later - my clothes are sopping wet and I have to re-spin the load. The only other info I was able to find in the blogosphere was that it is possibly an old fill valve that is leaking and needs to be replaced. But, being a brand new machine... Any help would be appreciated. I know it's still under warranty but I don't want to be the "dumb blonde" (I'm blonde guys, so I can make fun of myself!) who ends up with a $300 repair bill for "fixing the installation" when the tech only swaps out a $5 part or something. Thanks!

Hi Monica If your machine is filling with water when it is turned off then your water valve assembly is defective, probably was so when it came out of the factory. Call the warranty number and tell them to bring this part out Part number: AP3844429
in their truck and replace it for you. Don't worry about that "dumb" stuff. The only dumb thing you can do is not to make a warranty claim, you paid for the warranty and they should provide the service at no hassle. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
