Model Number: LSQ9010LW1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a 2003 Whirlpool washer. It make a noise after the spin cycle stop is ingauged. It washers & spins without a problem. It only makes the noise when it goes into the stop mode after the spin cycle is compete.

Could be the brakes grabbing. You can try placing a very small amount of brake lubricant like Sil-Glyde onto the inside surface of the brake drum with a small screwdriver. Next time the washer goes into spin, the brake linings will pick up and spread the lube around and hopefully cure the problem. If this doesn't work, you'll need to pull the gearcase again and inspect the brake linings and mechanism.
