Help! My washer will not agitate, Agitator is very loose. Spin & drain works just fine. Just happened this morning...

Does the motor run when in agitate mode? Can you rotate the agitator when grabbed by the fins on the lower half of the agitator? You should not be able to easily. If you can, the splines inside the agitator coupler are likely stripped out.

The motor sounds like it is trying to agitate when in agitation cycle. Yes the agitator can be moved very easy either way, It feels like it's very loose

Pull the agitator by placing a strap under it and forcefully yank it upwards. Can you now easily rotate the agitator coupler? If so, remove the bolt and coupler. Can you rotate the agitator shaft by hand? You should not be able to. If you can, the transmission is bad. If not, the coupler is probably stripped. Replace the coupler.

Thank you so much. It's the coupler! One quick question, between the tub and shaft where they connect, is that a seal or is it dirt that I can clean out?

If you mean between the tub nut and agitator shaft, yes, there is usually some crud in there that you can clean out but don't be too aggressive as there is a rubber seal in there (under the crud).
