The boot on this washer literally wore out and pieses of rubber were found in with the cleaned clothes. During inspection after boot removal I discovered the rim of the inner tub rotates 5/8 inch eccentrically within the outer tub opening. Inner tub opening measures within 1/32 of round, and in/out variance to outer tub opening is 1/8 inch.

This washer was repeatedly serviced by Maytag for severe vibraton/walking with no success, and was bolted to floor to stop repeated water line damage. This unit has, since new shaken the walls of the house.

Can anyone tell me if the inner tub condition described is the cause of or resulting from the vibration issues, and if the inner tub should be replaced?

Thanks
