I have an Inglis front load washer and it has started shredding peices of the gasket. I assume it is peices of the gasket because it is the same color. It also leaves the clothes with a burnt rubbery smell. Nothing is leaking (yet!). My wife also thinks it is leaving holes in some of our clothes?

I attached a picture - look at the top of the washer and that is what we pulled out after one load.

Help? The unit is about 1.5 years old with a 1 year warranty.

Wow, that is unusual. I can only think that perhaps something sharp in a pocket was left in for a wash, and that it is now caught in the basket and is tearing up the gasket and your clothes.

Feel around, very carefully as it may be sharp and cut you if you are not careful and see if you can locate anything.
