Maytag Atlantis

Recently, my machine quit spinning. I replaced the thrust washer kit, which took care of the spin problem, but now, the clothes smell strong of soap. Clothes seem to have spun out ok, but seems the agitator may not be aggitating as aggressively, and when spin cycle stops, the drem stops quite rapidly, rather than more of a wind down.

There is nothing you did in replacing the thrust washer that should have affected the agitator.

I would check the drain hoses and the pump. It may be that there is a partial clog and the water is not getting completely out of the clothes during spin.

You can also observe the agitation to see if the agitator is working properly.
