I'm working on something that someone else tried to fix... that's the problem! The dryer motor and timer have been replaced and the dryer is working fine. Now, the washer timer runs and it will fill up with water... that's it! nothing else happens. I checked it over with volt meter and have 120 to the timer (gray & red wires) and at the motor there's 120 volts on the blue wire & can't remember the other color wire but think it was black. Not sure where to start. As far as I know, When working on the dryer I didn't mess with anything concerning the washer. Fuse checked out okay. Motor appears to not be binding or hard to turn tho' it does have a load on it...(turns free but takes a little effort). As far as I can tell, all wires are in the right place on the timer. There is a red wire with a female spade connector that hangs loose and has been taped over... I don't have a clue what that goes to or why it is there. I couldn't find anywhere that it might go or is supposed to go to.... and did not check to see if it is hot or not.
When I raise the lid I can hear the timer quit running so I don't think it is the lid switch.
