Default No Power to Machine
Model Number: 11027032600   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

I just got the Kenmore Oasis 27042 from a friend about two weeks ago. I was able to wash 6 loads, when while washing a comforter, I received an error message (F5) and the machine stopped working completely. The machine was locked with wet comforter inside. My father was able to get the lid open, but the machine is completely not working. When I first noticed the error message, I pressed the drain and spin button and then start, but nothing happened. My husband disconnected the machine and when we connected it back, we there was no power in the machine. I had a repair man come and take a look at the machine and he told me I would need to replace the control board. When I called you guys to see if the control board I saw online was the one I need, I was informed by David, that my machine has two control boards and he emailed me a diagram of the machine. I would like to know if you can help me by letting me know which of the control boards controls the machine. Right now the machine is not turning on at all.

Thank you for your help.

Dear Rebeccah,

I was unable to come up with any tech sheets on this for the fault codes at this time but I was able to find a parts breakdown.

I believe what the technician was referring to was the CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY, MACHINE & MOTOR located in the control panel.

If the washer is dead there are a few things it could be.

1. Power not getting to the washer
2. Lid switch
3. Control board
4. Motor

If there is no display that usually indicates a board, thermal fuse in line to the power coming in or no power to the unit. To see if there is a thermal fuse in line check the wire diagram located in the washer. They usually put it in the control panel.
