spin basket is very loose inside tub. Thought it was dampers but they appear to be okay. How difficult is it to replace spin basket and how much would parts cost? Should we just buy new washer?!

Hi.

Most likely you will need to replace the rear tub also because the bearings are bad too.
For two parts you are looking to spend around $800.
I don't think it's worth it.
Get a new washer.
