Model Number: WHRE5550K2WW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
My GE washer started making loud screeching noise on agitation, leaking around center staff under machine and sounds like a jet taking off on spin...washes ok, but need ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it. Very fixed income..please help

Could be the sagging apron issue that plagues these models. Remove the front panel and observe the bottom of the motor while doing a load of laundry. If the apron is sagging, the motor shaft/pulley can rub on the bottom of the machine creating these noises.
