Estate washer- grinding noise and won't spin
Model Number: TAWB600PQ0 Brand: Estate Age: 5 - 10 years
My estate washer is about 7-8 yrs old and yesterday I was running a medium load through when it was about to start the spin cycle, it just sat there and made a loud grinding and wouldn't spin. I'd like to try and fix it because of the space that the washer has to fit though I just can't find a small enough replacement for it. I'm used to fixing computers though, not washers...

Does it fill, agitate and drain ok?

Not sure about the agitator... but it did drain ok after the rinse cycle. Should I plug it back in and try to start it filling and check the agitator? Thanks for the quick reply!

OK... I restarted a cycle and it fills and drains no problem, but at the start of the wash cycle the agitator barely moves - it moves a tiny bit but mostly grinding.

Sounds like the drive coupler between the motor and gearcase. You'll need to open the control panel and remove the washer cabinet. Then remove the drain pump from the motor and remove the motor.
