Washer just starts last cycle any time. I replaced the timer twice, within a 2 week period. Washer only just over a year old! Only way to stop it is unplug or lift lid.Also used GE part, The problem just started a month ago, and the washer is on its 3rd timer, bad timers? Can't seem to figuer it out? any ideas? thx russ

When it randomly starts, what does it do? Does it fill with water or just go into agitate or spin? Does it do this with the timer knob pushed in (off)?

agitate, even with timer pushed off, yes. Does not fill with water. thx russ

Sounds like a bad inverter board. Take the front panel off and unplug the rightmost connector on the motor/inverter and leave it off when not using washer. This isolates the timer. If it still comes on, the inverter is bad.

I removed the rightmost connector, as suggested, its red, and 5 hrs later it started to turn on again. Intermitten on and off, agitate.

can I purchase just the invertor board?

No, you cannot. Unless you have some weird power fluctuations at that receptacle the washer is plugged into, it has to be the inverter. If you purchase from here, you can return it if this is not the problem but I would contact GE and try to get them to provide a free replacement.

Eric, Thanks for the advice, My GE Washer was 4 months past warrenty, contacted the store I purchased it at. They contacted a GE rep. and in 3 days I had the new motor delivered UPS to my home no charge! New invertor on the motor, so far so good. thanks again for your help
