KitchenAid Washer stops randomly during cycle

Model Number: KAWS850LQ1 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a KitchenAid Washing Machine model #KAWS850LQ1. During a normal cycle, the machine will stop running. If we let it sit, it will start up on it's own, and then stop again at random times. This means that a load will take far longer than normal. We have also started it again by pushing in the timer, waiting a few minutes, then pulling it back out.
I replaced the lid switch, thinking this might be the problem, but that did not help.
I have also tried moving the timer to a different position and restarting, but that did not help either.
Any ideas you have will be helpful. Thanks
