The machine will run thru the wash cycle no problem and the basket moves as it is supposed to. When it reaches the spin cycle it does nothing and gets an error code of "dc". It does this even with no clothes in the basket. Machine is level and I have unplug and reset the washer that was suggested by a maytag rep. anyopne run into this before?

Have you found the Tech Sheet in the control panel? It has some helpful diagnostic tests in it.

It is time to remove and clean-up the drive clutch assembly. This may only be a temporary fix if the tub seal is leaking, as the clutch assembly will gum up again quickly. There is ~ 13 page article on this web site referencing this exact problem written by dh1200s.
