Model Number: 110.29632800 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
During a load my washer filled with water and did nothing after that. I didnt notice if it agitated or just didnt spin during spin cycle. When I tried to start it in different cycles the control panel would just make a humming noise. I emptied the washer and now when I start a cycle it will fill with water but wont do anything else and is not humming at all. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Josh Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
First of all you should check the lid switch located inside the control panel on the left. Use the multimeter and with the lid closed check the continuity between Grey and White wires in the disconnect plug. If there is no continuity - replace the lid switch Part number: 8318084 If this is not the lid switch we would like to have more detailed info: does the motor runs at all, agitates, is the timer advancing? Simon.

Simon,
I do not have an ohms tester or a true jump wire so I took just a piece of wire and bypassed the lid switch. When I put the dial on rinse or spin the control panel started to hum but no agitating or spinning from the washer. When I took out the wire and re-hooked up the lid switch it did nothing. Essentially if I start the washer at the begining of a cycle it will fill with water and the timer will advance to just before rinse. That is when the washer stops working. Since the washer didnt run with the lid switch bypassed but it did hum could it be more than the lid switch? Thanks, |

Hi.
Sorry, it's not clear - does the motor/washer runs at all on any settings? Without the meter you will be replacing parts until you guess right. Simon.
