I just bought a used Fridigaire FWT647GHSO front loader off Craigslist. The first time I fired it up I'm getting problems. It wouldn't drain properly with the drain hose connected to the wall about 48 inches high. I then took it out and just laid the drain hose on the floor and it drained water nonstop, I can hear the pump kick on when it is supposed to, and the water flows a little faster, but it is definitely draining nonstop.

So I removed the drain pump, and it looks fine, although I have little knowledge of what it should look like. Is there anyway to test this thing, or do I just have to spring for a new pump and see if that fixes it?

Thanks.

Also, is there a valve of any sort between the tub and drain pump? I'm thinking not since the manual states the drain hose has to empty min 24 inches above the floor. Also also, when I removed the pump, a dime fell out. Any hope that was obstructing flow and all is good now?
