I installed a new timer on my maytag washer that was stopping in the middle of a cycle, which you could turn the timer off and back on and it would complete the cycle, I assumed it had to be the timer so I replaced it now the new timer works only on spin cycle it wont put any water in in any cycle. HELP

Your original problem does sound like the timer, so the new one should have fixed things.
The first thing to do is to check the connectors. I would take the connectors off, check for any bent or damaged pins, clean everything with a good contact cleaner and then reseat the connectors.
If that does not fix it, check the wiring that goes to the water level switch, and the water level switch itself.
