Model Number: 11082673110 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
Kenmore 70 series washing machine (model 11082673110) is leaking from the center of tub (drips onto clutch). I replaced the tub seal and basket drive block and it seemed to fix the problem for about 3-4 loads. The leak is back and the amount of leak increases with water level and size of load. At low water level and light load there appears to be no leak (operating with cover off and jumped out lid switch) Pulled the basket out again and noticed there is quite a bit of play between what I think is called the center post and the basket drive tube. Is this another potential source for a leak? You can see that the basket drive tube is pretty rusted. Or should I re-check how I installed the tub seal? Or perhaps be happy with 25 years of use and buy a new one. Thank you!

Hello,
There are two seals inside the basket drive and most likely this where the water is coming through. Unfortunately they are not sold separately and you have to replace the whole basket drive. APP sold it for $119.34 and I'm not sure if your washer is worth it. - The basket drive assembly Part number: 285792 Gene.

Finely I found the part number for the seal and bearing kit to fix this problem. It cost much less than the new basket drive.
