I have a Kenmore Elite washer and a couple weeks ago it started making a horrendous noise only during the spin cycle. Opened up the bottom cover and didn't notice anything weird or out of place. Did it again last weekend during the spin cycle only. belt on back looks ok, took off belt and pulled on pulley and it is tight on shaft and doesn't appear that there is slop between bearing housing and drum. Both springs on the top are intact and hanging properly. The only thing besides the banging noise is that when you pull the rubber lip back on the seal by the stainless drum inside, you can see that the drum has been hitting the plastic on the outside and has chewed it up some. So what is wrong with our washer? Thanks for any help in advance.
