Model Number: LSE7804ADE Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
O.K...so my dryer was making a bit of a squealing noise that had gotten worse lately...I decide it's time to replace the dryer drive belt and rollers. The job seemed to go fairly well...noticed that one of the non-metallic washers wasn't re installed the last time the drum wheel was taken off and the black wheel and metal was wearing away...great, caught it early...put the unit back together..plugged it in...runs smoooth and quiet...great success, or so i thought. When I attempt to use the washer, all it does is fill with water. I can hear some noises (quiet hum and a bit of clicking)but it will NOT agitate, spin, drain..nothing. Now obviously it's something I've done...It worked great before I "fixed" the dryer, but best I can tell all of the electrical connections are as they should be. There are three wires behind the control panel that aren't connected to anything, but I don't think they ever were. Could it need to be reset somehow? Hidden fuse somewhere? I could really use a hand...anyone with any ideas?
Thanks in advance! Shaun Ads By Google Related Models |

Sounds like you may have inadvertently caused a lid switch problem.
Here is the diagram of your parts. By pass the lid switch and if the machine works that is your problem. 12-Top & Lid (LSE7804ACM & Adm) parts for Maytag LSE7804ADE - AppliancePartsPros.com

Lid switch eh?.. Do we know if any of the associated wiring runs thru the dryer area? Or what I might have done to cause it to stop working. I will try to have a look at it first thing in the morning, but I will take all the advise I can get...

The way the wiring works in these units is that you have two 110-20v circuits. Other than the dryer heating elements, the rest of the unit runs off of one110-20v circuit. Since the washer will fill this means it is getting power, but something is not allowing the unit to come on.
It may be that you bumped or otherwise accidentally did something to the lid switch assembly, or it may be coincidence or it may not be the lid switch assembly at all.

Unlike my last washer, this washer won't (and has not as long as I've owned it) fill with water while the lid is opened. So I think the lid switch is working... The faint noises coming from the timer/cycle dial also stop when the lid is opened... Would this perhaps send us in a new direction?

Ok... Apparently when I removed the front dryer panel, I unplugged 3 wires inadvertently... I saw the wires, but there didn't appear to be anywhere for them to plug in to. Well, on closer look, they were plugged in to the back side of the timer... Who knew they would hide terminals back there. So now the new issue... I have plugged the three wires in (best I could figure they should go) and now the washer goes through all the cycles normally... Only problem... It keeps going.. And going... Until I manually push the timer knob in to make it stop. Anyone around here think they know the problem???

Still looking for some help with this one guys. I have found the electrical schematic, and the three wires are connected to their proper connectors, but the timer is still acting up... It does still agitate while its filling.. And will just continue on to the next cycle.. Repeating its way around the dial...could this be a water level sensor issue?
