Model Number: WBSR3140G2WM Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a GE Hydrowave washer that is 4 years old. When it was 11 months old, it stopped agitating. (Covered under warranty) the repairman came and replaced the timer. Well it did it again so I purchased a new timer and installed it thinking it was that again. It didn't work. I am not getting any codes from the green LED. Can you help me to figure out what is wrong. I called a repairman and he said my motor and transmission are shot. After looking online, info stated it didn't even have a transmission. So I'm confused why he would say that and now questioning his ability. If it is the motor or gear so be it. How would I test these items to make sure it is that? It fills and spins fine. It just wont agitate. I've tried to reset it many times to try for a code, but to no avail. Any info would really be appreciated. Thank you.

I wouldn't call that repairman again, your washer doesn't have a transmission/gearcase. In normal wash cycle, after it fills and stops, does the timer advance on it's own? If not, you need to troubleshoot the water level switch. If it does, you need to take some AC voltage readings on the motor connectors. Do you have a multimeter and are you comfortable doing this? You must not touch the motor case as it is not grounded.

Yes the timer advances on it's own and I do have a multimeter. I am not real familiar with it tho. Only used it once before. But I certainly would like to try

OK, when it should be in high speed agitate mode, you should have 120 volts AC between neutral, the white w/red stripe wire on the leftmost motor connector, and the blue wire as well as the violet/wht wire of the rightmost connector. For low speed agitate, the white and violet/wht. Place the meter leads up into the connector where the wire goes, not on the top of the circuit board as it's too easy to slip and short something out there. If your getting the correct voltages and no error code then you'll need to replace the motor.
