During agitation or washing cycle ther is a metal clang, like metal rubbing against metal. What do you suggest could be the problem and thanks.

Hard to say without being there to hear the noise.
Take the front panel off by inserting a screw driver in the gap between the top and front near the edges to release clips that hold the front panel on. Then operate it and see if you can determine where the noise might be coming from. Grinding during agitation is unusual for this model, but sounds like you do have some problem.
