Kenmore Brake and Drive tube removal
Model Number: 110.92593210 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
On my 16 yr old Kenmore direct drive washer, at the bottom of the cam tube is a groove that holds the retaining ring or C clip. The groove is worn. The retaining ring just falls out so I guess I have to replace the cam tube. In order to replace the tube I figure I have to remove the agitator, then turned the washer on it's side and removed the motor-pump-transmission assembly. It appears you also have to remove the spanner nut. My question is: Do you have to remove the enclosure, the plastic tub, and then the basket to remove the cam tube ? So, can I just remove the spanner nut and just slide out the cam tube assembly without having to remove the enclosure, tub and basket ? Please advise. Thank you
