My washer has started spraying water from the detergent cup. Nothing is stopped up or overflowing. The problem appears to be that the volume of water entering the cup is too great, causing the water to splash and bounce, spraying water everywhere.

Using the diagnostics, turning on the detergent cup with hot water (lowest flow rate) causes no problem. Setting the temp to cold (medium flow) causes some splashing. Using warm (highest flow) makes a huge mess!

Water appears to be flowing around the entire perimeter of the cup and I couldn't hear any type of rattling or anything inside the cup. I had thought possibly some type of diverter had broken off inside the cup but now I feel that maybe there is something inside the water valve itself.

Also, I just checked the other cups and they will all overflow with the temp set to warm. So now I'm fairly sure it is the water valve itself. Anyone have any experience with this type of failure?
