Hello and thanks in advance for any help. I am having trouble with our whirlpool washer. The washer fills with water and then stops. Previously banging on the left side of the lid would start the machine but now that has stopped working. We suspected the lid switch and replaced that today but apparnetly that was not the solution. Any other ideas?

Most common problem is a blown open thermal cuttout in the motor, just pull motor and check with a meter.

Our Whirlpool Washer LSQ9560PW2 does the same thing. We have to bang on the lid very hard. I find it odd that a motor thermocouple would even feel that impact!

Did you get it fixed? What did you have to do? Would enjoy hearing the results.
