To remove the 37.5mm (1 1/2-in. SAE equivalent) hub nut you have to use a socket or Crescent wrench. Turn it CCW to remove.
Gene.

Thanks Gene, but that was the very first things that i have tried. crescent wrench in the CCW position was not enough so i even tried even a 1 1/2 deep socket with with extinsions and a breaker bar to equal 34". Still a "no-go". That was even with my wife on the backside holding the splined shaft with a 36" pipe wrench on it and me with my weight and the torqe. I have been in the machine shop since 92' as a tool-n-die man and in 05' a have been a CNC opperator/programer. When i got into the tub to measure with a set of calipers it measured 1.485 SAE. (37.719 MM). so i rounded it up to a 1 1/2 (1.500) SAE or (38.1 MM). So then i found this: Pro TJ90TB123A Spanner Wrench - AppliancePartsPros.com I'm thinking if i could not bust/break the seal even when i added heat with the mini torch to disapate the loc-tite that i'm just gonna use a grinder, arbor and a cut-off-wheel and just cut the hub nut off and replace it with new since i have allready purchased a new mechanical housing. Thanks for your time ~ Darrin |
