First of all thanks to those of you have already offered suggestions / tips. However, I am re-posting this as my parts are coming in tomorrow and I want to reassemble. I need clean clothes!!

I have a question about the agitator bolt and rubber washer that I pulled out. When I took it out, there were two rubber washers on it. One small, beveled washer that fits snug on the threads of the bolt (left of pic). And another wider, flatter washer that almost pulls over the top of the bolt head - doesn't seem to fit right (center of pic).



When I bolt it back down, the bigger washer doesn't seem to seat right, and if I don't hold it in place with a screwdriver, it will twist and pop out over the top of the bolt. Even when it stays on, it doesn't look like it would properly seal anything.

I bought a new flat washer from Lowe's (on the far right of photo) that fits nicely under the head of the bolt and seems like it would work better.

Why are there two rubber washers on one bolt? I inherited this washer from a family member, but I don't think anyone has ever pulled the agitator bolt before, so I believe it is stock…

Again, the two washers on the left were on the bolt when I took it out of the agitator assembly. Is this correct? Why?

UPDATE:

Well, not sure if this is correct, but the larger washer seems to fit perfectly at the joining points between the upper and lower agitator. Is this correct?



Also, does anything need greasing upon re-assembly??

And lastly... Kind of a noob question, but I should be able to spin the basket by hand correct? Didn't try real hard, but when I gave it a little push by hand, it didn't move. Will try again when I get home from work...

Don't know firsthand but here is the parts breakdown for the agitator.
#2 is screw and washer, #24 is inner cap seal, #11 is agitator seal and the part you have placed the washer on in your pic is #22 thrust spacer.

OK, got it sorted out! Looks like the TWO washers on the left of photo 1 used to be ONE washer. Over time, that washer broke into two pieces... Need a new washer
