Loud noise while on wash cycle
Model Number: WLSR3000G5WW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
The unit makes a very loud noise while on wash cycle, not during spin cycle, could it be the tub bearing??

No, the tub does not rotate during agitate so there is no movement between the shaft and bearing, however, if the mode shifter coil is bad, then the basket will rotate back and forth with the agitator and can be very noisy. Check to see if the basket is rotating during agitate. You will have to defeat the lid switch or open the front cover of the washer where you can view the basket (inner tub) through the outer tub.
