Default Water continues to fill washer during entire cycle
Model Number: GLET1031FS4   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
Water will not shut off completely to my washer. It continued to slowly fill with water during all parts of cycle and when the washer is on off setting. The only way I could stop the water from entering washer was to shut it off at the water inlet from the house. Help!

Thanks, Simon! What is the best way to access this part? It appears that I need to remove the dryer to be able to remove the panels on the washer which is proving to be quite pesky!

Hi.

Pull the unit off the wall.Disconnect the power, turn the water off, remove the hoses.
Remove 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel, one on each side, and pull it down.
Disconnect the wires from the lid lock and remove 2 screws one on each front corner.
Lift and pull out the top.
Take one screw holding the valve out from the back.

Good luck.

Simon.

So, I've gotten to the part and exchanged it, but I am not sure that I plugged the red and white plugs into the new part correctly. (The washer seems to be working so far, but I want to make sure) I have the white plug at the top and the red plug at the bottom, but I'm not sure that I didn't flip the plugs top to bottom which would reverse the wires. I believe the white plug has one yellow and one blue wire and would like to be sure that I have them in the correct order top to bottom. I have the red plug with the red/black wires at the bottom of this plug. Does this matter? The washer is working and seems to be filling correctly.

Thanks,
Keegan

Hi.

If the plugs are installed incorrectly the hot and cold water will be switched around. Select cold water only wash and check.

Thanks so much, you've been super helful! The part arrived quickly and was fairly easy to replace thanks to your help. We have a well an have always had a problem with sediment clogging the filter on this part. Several months ago, we took the filter out of the water inlet valve because it is so difficult to clean. I'm sure that is what caused the filling problem, so we have put a filter into the hose at the wall which is a bit easier to clean. Thanks again!

Keegan
