Greetings,

I’m having problems with a GE washer (Model#:WLSE3150A0WW). It started out not spinning, and giving off a burning smell.
At first the washer continued to agitate, but now doesn’t in either wash or rinse modes. There is a buzzing sound
The washer starts to spin but stops with a click after a second. The motor hums, and there is a burning smell. With the front cover off it appears to have smoke coming from the front of the motor.
I removed the belt to check it and there do not appear to be any cracks, nicks or burn marks on the belt.
While the belt was off I turned the pulley attached to the transmission. The agitator turned with the pulley, and when I turned the pulley in the opposite direction the drum turned with it.
Also, with the belt off, I plugged back in to see if the motor would spin without the belt attached. In spin cycle the motor turned in the correct direction. It appears to spin up, but not too full speed.
