will fill and drain but will not agitate or spin

Hello, Can anyone help me? I have a kenmore 70 series washer. The washer will fill and drain but will not agitate or spin. I can move the agitator moves freely by hand. I can move the tub from side to side as well. Any ideas what may be wrong and how to fix it? Thank you very much for any help given.
