my washer continues to fill with water. even when the dial is in the off position and the knob is not on... i had to turn the water off at the valves to stop the water. what could be wrong with it? please help!!!

Sounds like you need a new water valve.

Try it again but this time unplug the washer if the water does not also shut off you have confirmed that it is a water valve problem.
