:( I was told the transmission was bad.. It was makeing a roaring sound with a water leak on the aggitateing cycle. My first problem is , I can't seem to remove the aggitator. I think it is in two seperate parts... The top part turns clockwise but not counterclockwise and the larger part (the aggitator) comes up a half inch but no more, like something is stopping it. Any help would GREATLY be appreciated... I'm starting to pull my hair out!...

Look. What has likely happened is that the center seal has failed and water has leaked into the transmission. Given the age of the machine I think you should replace it. You can get a good basic top loader for not much more than what the repair will cost you.
