I had the same problem with a Cabrio WTW6300. When it ended the wash cycle prematurely the "ol" was displayed and the clothes were very wet and not clean. I was able to spin them using the manual test. After determining what was meant by the basket floating, that is the basket moves up and then down about an inch as referenced to the agitator when you pull up on the basket. You should hear a clunk at each end of the movement. I followed the online disassembly video and determined that the basket did not float and was stuck on the shaft. I pulled up on the basket and simultaneously smacked down on the shaft with a "rubber" mallet a few times. The basket finally broke loose. A visual check showed rust on the shaft. I removed it with some fine emery cloth and oil. Then clean the shaft, lubricate lightly with some water resistant grease, re-assemble and my "ol" problem went away. the washer now works like new.
