I have a kenmore 90 series 110 model that is working however; it just started making a whining noise when in the rinse/spin cycle. could it be a part is on its way out? any help would be greatly appreciated

Check and see if something is caught between the tub and basket. If that is okay check out the brakes and clutch. See the Sticky by Richappy at the top of the main washer page for some good info.
