GE Front Load Washer Will Not Go Into Test Mode

Here are the symptoms: the washer is stuck in the "Rinse & Spin" cycle. Rotating knob will not change this setting. When I press start, the machine locks the door, turns 1 turn to the left and then 1/2 turn to the right and stops. After about 30 seconds, the machine unlocks the door. After another minute or so, the machine again locks the door and then just sits there. The time counts down from 18 minutes to 7 minutes, and then goes into the pause mode (light blinks). After I press the pause button, nothing happens, but the timer counts down to 1 minute, and then goes into the pause mode again.
If I disconnect the machine, wait over 30 seconds, and then plug it in, the time resets itself back to 18 minutes and then repeats the entire process again.
Because the system has the countdown, according to the manual, I cannot go into the test mode. I have cleaned the filter in the front, removed all wet clothes, and repeated every step, yet nothing different happens.
Any suggestions????

Hi. Check the wire harness connections at the control board. If all checks OK - the most likely it's the control board Part number: WH12X10355
