My roper ras6233kq2 top load washer stops working mid cycle and then I can not get it to function anymore. Currently it is sitting with a full tank of water and a load of clothes starting to stink.

I am not too familiar with washer machines, but am handy with a wrench.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi.

Remove two screws from the rear corners of the end caps and raise the control panel. Check the lid switch on the left for continuity (with the lid closed-yes, open-no).
Replace if bad.

The lid switch Part number: 8318084
