How do I replace the transmission in this SAV205DAWW washer. Do I need any special Tools. Appreciate any info and advice

Hi Bill,

You can find the complete instructions in the service manual.

- The part number for the transmission assembly is AP3456108

I can't get that service manual link to work, try www.appliancejunk.com/forums
Click on manuals, then laundry then Amana Maytag washer SAV.
This is a big job to do. You may need the special spanner wrench, but you can use electrical outlet boxes to spread the tub springs.
Before starting, I would make sure there is no leaking of the tub bearings and seals, just look above the tranny for signs of leaking, sometimes they leak into the tranny and ruin it.
