start capacitor burned out (half melted,,,excessive heat)...replaced with new original manufacturer capacitor. That replacement burned out. wanted to troubleshoot most likely problem. Testing motor v replacement seems like replacement would be best but dont want to if there is likely another problem that could be trouble shot.. How to trouble shoot bearings, transmission, drive, brake to be sure they are not the reason for the "hard start" please address eachof those possible issues as well as any other ones that may be likely. thanks

Seems like a shorted start switch in the motor, although rare. You can take the switch apart to confirm.
